AGM

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation we have been advised by the Charity Commission that we can delay the AGM. We will of course have an AGM when it is permissible to regather. Notification of the date etc. will be given when appropriate.

 

NEWS

1. OPENING UPDATE – 5th JULY 2021

Greystones House intends to fully open on Monday 5th July (subject to changes in the government plans) although some sections have decided to delay their start date until later.

2. MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL – 1st MAY 2021

The membership year will move to 1st May 2021 through 30th April 2022 to bring it in line with the CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) accounting year. Greystones House will be opening from 2pm to 4pm Mon-Fri from Monday 21st June to Friday 2nd July for cash/cheque payment renewals and distribution of new membership cards. There is also a new option to renew via BACs (online) available on the Membership page of this website.

Additionally, there will be a new colour-coded annual membership card.

3.  SITUATIONS VACANT – July 20th 2020

HCA urgently requires a Buildings/Premises Manager to oversee the continued maintenance of Greystones House. The position is voluntary and responsibilities will include:-

  • Reviewing the building for any repairs required
  • Liaising with suppliers of maintenance services
  • Ensuring preventative maintenance is undertaken by service suppliers (e.g. Lift / Boilers)
  • Liaising with the management committee on the finances

Located close to the seafront at Highcliffe in a Grade 2* listed building there lies a hidden jewel! If you are young or old, alone or part of a family, fighting fit or have a disability, there is something for you! Arts and Crafts, physical exercise, mind-bending card and board games, a well-stocked library (containing not only books but CDs and jigsaws etc. all for hire at virtually give-away prices!); brush up on your languages or learn a new skill! We have it all (and if not we would welcome suggestions as to new activities.) If you are new to the area, or have lived here for many years, come and see what we have to offer!
