I was honoured to be invited to become President of this Association for the next year.
Having been a member for over 30 years there have been many changes in that time. Soon after joining I became aware that the Computer Section, now ITForum, was running a 6 week course to acquaint members of the capabilities of personal computing, a very new concept at that time. I felt that my previous experience in this field might be of assistance.
The Section expanded as the years rolled by, and in 1999 took on the task of producing the Association’s monthly newsletter. This process has continued to date with the preparation still carried out by volunteer Association members although extensive use of the internet is now possible.
Many new sections are planned but willing organisers are necessary to make this possible, so if you have particular experience or knowledge and can make a small amount of time available, please contact one of the organisers.
