As a club we meet to play
A game that some might say
“They play with cards you know”!!!
But it is not gambling for dough
We are a very social club
I don’t mean that we go to the pub
Instead we enjoy a friendly meal
And afterwards the cards we deal
South Lawn Hotel was our recent day of fun
We even had our pre-lunch drinks in the sun
The menu choice was so sublime
We enjoyed ourselves with a little wine
The function room was perfect for us
As the bridge tables were set up without fuss
We finished our coffee ready to start
A game that is so dear to our heart.
