WELCOME BACK ONE and ALL!
Finally, we are back. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome both new and existing members back to our lovely building.
After a long-enforced period of closure it is so good to be back up and running and doing what we do best, providing an environment where members can partake in numerous activities and can socialise with friends
I would like to pay tribute to the Management Committee and the various volunteers who through our downtime have not been idle. As you will see there has been a lot of reparation work undertaken, including decoration, roof repairs, window repairs, changes to reception to name but a few.
The re-start after such a long-closed period took a lot of effort but I am pleased to say the two weeks of ‘open-days’ (afternoons) was a big success as we have welcomed in excess of 100 new members who have signed up to many sections. To this end we have had to open new sessions for numerous sections. Hopefully, we have managed to accommodate all requests. If not, be assured we will be looking at ways to do so.
We have also published a list of social events to the end of 2021. Notification when tickets for these events will be published on the Notice board in Wharncliffe Road, in Reception, in the Newsletter and on the website. Keep a lookout! Please be aware that these often sell out so get your tickets early.
Finally, if it is not already published by time of going to press, we will be organising the much-delayed AGMs for the old and new charities soonest. They are your chance to put your views to the Committee, to propose members for and to elect the Management Committee, to propose rule changes and to volunteer your services. We look forward to seeing you there.
Cliff Putterford.
