What a fantastic week this turned out to be both financially, with a total of £5563 being raised, and with visitors coming from near and far and hopefully bringing in new members.
A huge thank you to Lyn, Meryl and Julie who took over the task of organising and overseeing the whole event from me and also for looking after me or should I say “nagging” me to rest, eat and drink. Obviously, the week would not have taken place without the help of our loyal band of volunteers, both during the week, in making up the jigsaws over the last 18 months and the wonderful bakers who kept us supplied with fabulous cakes. We cannot thank you enough.
During the week we were asked numerous times for the date of next year’s fayre so here it is for you to make a note of: Tuesday 5th August to Saturday 9th August.
People also said it was too early for Christmas jigsaws and would we hold a Christmas Jigsaw Fayre so we have decided to hold a Christmas Jigsaw and Christmas Crafts Fayre with a Christmas Hamper Raffle on Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1st December from 10.00am to 3.30pm, only Christmas jigsaws and Christmas crafts will be on sale.
If anyone would like to help again with the making up of jigsaws, they will be available along with the boards from 2nd September from reception. Any donations of Christmas jigsaws will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks once again for your support.
Jan Hollowell.
